CM Reviews Progress on Landmark Dehradun Road Projects

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami led a focused review meeting at the Secretariat with Public Works Department officials. He underscored the urgent need to accelerate work on four-lane elevated road projects over the Rispana and Bindal rivers. The CM called for swift action in every stage of these crucial infrastructure developments.

Quick Action Sought for Ring Road, Utility Duct Policy

He instructed the officials to expedite the Dehradun ring road and bypass project, especially from Asharodi to Mohkampur. The meeting emphasized that work on the utility duct policy should move at a fast pace to support the seamless execution of these transformative roadways.

Modern Technology to Lead Road Construction

Dhami stressed that the use of innovative construction technologies will improve road quality. He directed the department to adopt state-of-the-art methods in all new works. Bridges in poor condition must be repaired or rebuilt on a priority basis, reflecting a focus on long-term sustainability.Slope Safety and Road Resilience Tackled

Chief Minister Dhami pressed for dedicated efforts to expand Uttarakhand’s road network. Projects were highlighted to better link Kedarkhand and Manaskhand. The CM stressed the importance of developing strong connectivity between Dehradun and Haldwani, Delhi and Haldwani, and other major cities, outlining a need for robust planning and quicker execution.

Traffic Solutions Between Mussoorie and Dehradun

To ease congestion between Mussoorie and Dehradun, alternative routes are now a priority. The segment covering the stretch between the two cities will see accelerated upgrades, with renewed attention on timely tarring of roads to further ease traffic flow.Engineering Studies and Groundwork Moving Forward

Secretary Dr. Pankaj Pandey briefed the gathering on significant progress. The first phase of the Rispana and Bindal elevated corridors—11km and 15km, respectively—has received approval, with feasibility and hydrological studies complete. Land acquisition marking is underway. Alignment for the Dehradun ring road is finalized, with its feasibility report and railway diversion plan prepared. The Dehradun-Mussoorie project also has its feasibility report and geotechnical investigation done.

Senior Leadership Steers Project Momentum

The review meeting saw active participation from key leaders including Infrastructure Monitoring Council Vice Chairman Vishwas Dabar, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretaries R.K. Sudhanshu and R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretaries Sachin Kurve and Ashish Chauhan, Vineet Kumar, and other relevant officers. Their involvement displays the coordinated push behind these ambitious projects.
