Long-awaited Singtali Bridge work to start in Pauri district

The long-awaited Singtali Bridge project in Uttarakhand has moved to its next stage after recent approvals. The proposed bridge, located in Pauri district, is expected to significantly improve connectivity for the local population. Plans have faced delays earlier, but now official sanction has cleared remaining hurdles. With financial and administrative approvals granted, construction is set to begin soon, marking a key development for regional infrastructure growth.

Financial and Administrative Approval Granted

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved funds worth ₹57 crore for the Singtali Bridge project. The state government issued formal orders to the chief engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD) on Tuesday. According to media reports, the bridge will be constructed on the Ganga river at kilometer one of the Kaudiyala–Byasghat motor road.

Project Details and Estimated Cost

The Singtali Bridge will have a total length of 150 meters. The estimated cost of the project is ₹57.05 crore. Officials confirmed that the proposal had earlier been cleared by the Expenditure Finance Committee under the Chief Secretary’s chairmanship. Reported by media sources, the special directions of the Chief Minister ensured timely sanction for this priority project.

Long-Pending Public Demand Addressed

Residents had been demanding the bridge for many years. The Chief Minister stated that the project would strengthen road connectivity in the Yamkeshwar assembly area. He further said that construction will start quickly and will be completed within the stipulated period.

All major clearances for the Singtali Bridge have now been finalized. The government has assured that work will begin immediately to meet long-standing public expectations.

The clearance for the Singtali Bridge indicates stronger emphasis on rural connectivity. Local communities may now expect reduced travel challenges, faster access to services, and improved economic opportunities. Completion of the project may also boost tourism and regional road network efficiency in coming years.
