Industry grievances to be resolved without delays

Uttarakhand has stepped up efforts to strengthen its industrial ecosystem with a renewed focus on resolving entrepreneurs’ concerns promptly and improving operational conditions for businesses. In a high-level meeting of the State-Level Udyog Mitra Committee at the Secretariat, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan took stock of issues raised by local entrepreneurs and industry bodies, directing departments to provide swift solutions.

Swift Resolution of Industry Concerns

The Chief Secretary instructed officials to listen carefully to industry grievances presented by entrepreneurs and address each matter with urgency. According to media reports, specific case resolutions will be facilitated through coordination between relevant departments, ensuring businesses receive timely support.

Bardhan noted that the state’s Finance Secretary will hold discussions with entrepreneurs to clarify doubts and resolve issues related to the GST regime. He also proposed that norms for setting up Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) hospitals be relaxed, with the proposal forwarded to the Regional Council for consideration. In addition, officials have been tasked with arranging suitable land in Dehradun district for a planned ESIC hospital.

Enhancing Industrial Infrastructure

Emphasizing infrastructure improvements, Bardhan directed agencies to provide all necessary facilities to industrial establishments, including uninterrupted power supply and enhanced logistics. The state aims to create an enabling environment for both new business setups and existing enterprises. As per several media sources, departments have been instructed to take proactive measures rather than wait for scheduled committee meetings, particularly in urgent cases.

Regular Committee Engagements

The Chief Secretary urged regular meetings of state and district-level Udyog Mitra Committees to maintain active dialogue between industries and the government. These sessions will address operational challenges while aligning policy measures with ground-level needs.

Officials and Industry Representatives Present

The meeting witnessed participation from senior officials including Secretary Dilip Jawalkar, Shailesh Bagoli, Vinay Shankar Pandey, Additional Secretary Vineet Kumar, representatives of industry organizations, and several entrepreneurs from across the state.

The drive to refine Uttarakhand’s industrial climate reflects the state’s focus on efficiency, infrastructure readiness, and stronger industry-government collaboration—key factors in boosting economic activity.

This initiative may pave the way for faster industrial dispute resolution and improved infrastructure standards, encouraging more investments and job creation in Uttarakhand.
